At no point of time sidereal and tropical coincided! You are mistaken. The scorpio constellation is incredibly smaller than the virgo constellation, so eithar way sidereal and tropical signs are just artificial segments of the elliptic of the sun.

The point is that even sidereal signs don't coincide with constellations, since constellations have largely different sizes. And the reality coincides with Sidereal unlike Tropical which absolutely makes no sense and is contradictory to visible science ffs. Anyway it is true that there are things that were invented by indians, like rahu and ketu or nakshatras, but that's why it makes sense to combine different traditions using what it works from some tradition and what it works from an other tradition.Įvery day every planet has certain constellation in the background. This is actually innacurate because we know that astrology originated in mesopotamia and i'm pretty sure that the names of the signs were given during the hellenistic period. Saints here gave all the names of all zodiac signs, all nakshatras that make up these signs, all planets including rahu and ketu which wouldn't even exist as per western Astrology. Well, this doesn't make really sense since in ancient times tropical and sidereal coincided, so you can technically use the tropical zodiac applying the vedic techniques.Īstrology originated in India. To use tropical positions and then call oneself vedic astrologer is a joke in itself. I don't understand in fact why make the signs start from the 0° of the actual constellation of aries knowing that anyway the signs are not going to even remotely coincide with the constellations. And this also to me seems like an ulterior proof that tropical might be better. The difference is that for vedic astrology the starting point should be found in the positions of the stars, rather than the equinox which is the starting point for western astrology. So if that's your logic you should do the tpe of astrology that actually considers the constellations as the equivalent of signs, which actually exists but i don't remember the name.īoth vedic astrology and western astrology agree that signs are just the "artificial" twelve equal segment of the ellyptic of the sun. I feel no need for delusions, for *pretending* like the Moon is in Gemini right now when it's literally sitting in the middle of Taurus.īut the sidereal zodiac doesn't coincide at all with the actual constellations, which are of exetremely different sizes. Maybe it's because the climate is different there and the warmest months do not concide with the warmest months in Europe. It makes sense in fact that the coldest months are ruled by saturn and the warmest by the sun and the moon, which also could explain why in india they use a different system. It also makes much more sense to me for the signs to be linked to the seasons rather than to the stars. This is not to say that western astrology is superior, in fact to me seems that vedic has much more instruments to make more accurate and specific predictions than western. In fact the reason why i got into astrology in the first place is because i learned that there were other things to it instead of just the monthly signs, but i don't think i would've found it to be so reliable if i discovered vedic before of western astrology.Īlso, it makes sense that, since zodiac signs, appearently, were born during hellenism in the west, that western traditions are more capable to use this instrument.

And the same it's also true for my relatives and friends charts, they make all a lot less sense when they're sidereal instead of tropical. I recently got fascinated in vedic astrology, but the problem that i had with it is that i never really identified with their planetary positions (i should be a cancer sun, virgo moon in vedic astrology but i definetely am more of a leo sun libra moon). I've recently stumbled upon them and i have to say that they seem to make a lot of sense to me.
